Common sporting injuries we treat:

Ankle sprain

A stretch or tear of the ligaments in the ankle, often caused by twisting or rolling the ankle during activity. Symptoms – swelling, bruising, pain, and difficulty bearing weight.

Hamstring strain

A tear or overstretch of the hamstring muscles at the back of the thigh, typically occurring during sprinting or sudden acceleration. Symptoms – sudden sharp pain, muscle weakness, and tenderness.

Groin strain

Overstretching or tearing of the inner thigh muscles, often seen in sports that involve sudden changes of direction. Symptoms – pain in the groin area, swelling, and limited leg movement.

ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury

A tear or sprain of the ACL in the knee, commonly resulting from pivoting or awkward landings. Symptoms – a “pop” sensation, swelling, instability, and pain with movement.

Patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner’s knee)

Pain around the front of the knee due to overuse or improper alignment of the kneecap. Symptoms – aching pain during running, squatting, or climbing stairs.

Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)

Overload or tear of the tendons on the outside of the elbow from repetitive wrist and arm motions. Symptoms – pain and tenderness on the outer elbow, weakness in grip strength

Shoulder impingement

Compression of the tendons or bursa in the shoulder during arm movements, common in overhead sports. Symptoms – pain with lifting the arm, reduced range of motion, and weakness.

Rotator cuff injury

Damage to one or more of the rotator cuff muscles or tendons in the shoulder, from overuse or trauma. Symptoms – shoulder pain, especially at night, weakness, and limited motion.

Shin splints (medial tibial stress syndrome)

Inflammation of the muscles and tendons around the shinbone, usually due to repetitive stress. Symptoms – dull ache along the inner shin, tenderness, and mild swelling.

Achilles tendinopathy

Overuse injury of the Achilles tendon at the back of the ankle, often from running or jumping activities. Symptoms – pain and stiffness, especially in the morning or after activity.
